My eBox
What is My eBox?
eBox is an electronic mailbox where you can receive, consult and manage messages from public institutions and public interest organisations in complete security. By using eBox, you choose to receive communications from member administrations in digital format rather than on paper. In this way, you are helping to organise and digitise public services more effectively. Say goodbye to red tape!!
My eBox is your access to your personal eBox. You can consult My eBox via the web portal or on your mobile device, via the MyGov.be app.
Consult My eBox on MyGov.be
Already using My eBox? In this case, you do not need to do anything further and no additional authorisation is required. As soon as you activate MyGov.be, your eBox messages are also available under the My eBox tab.
Not yet using My eBox? In this case, no message will be visible under My eBox. To receive messages, you must first give your consent. You can easily activate My eBox in the MyGov.be app:
- Open the MyGov.be app.
- Open the My eBox tab.
- Follow the activation instructions.
Good to know! You can access eBox messages via various (access) portals, such as My eBox, Doccle, IRISbox or Mijnburgerprofiel. Activating My eBox in the MyGov.be app only allows access to eBox messages in the app and on the My eBox web portal, but does not give authorisation or access to other portals. More information.
How do I manage My eBox?
When you activate My eBox, you choose to receive communications from connected administrations in digital form rather than on paper. My eBox helps you avoid missing any messages:
- My eBox will notify you when a new message arrives at the e-mail address you gave when you activated My eBox. Have you chosen not to provide an e-mail address? In this case, you will need to track new messages yourself via the web portal or the MyGov.be app.
- My eBox sends you a reminder when a message has not been read and is about to expire. A message is read when you have read the public service information (available in pdf format) via the My eBox portal or via your MyGov.be app.
In My eBox, you cannot delete messages, but you can structure them. The ability to manage messages in folders is not available in the MyGov.be app, but is available in the web portal.
You can find all the information and details about My eBox on the website www.myebox.be.
I want to delete or deactivate My eBox
You cannot delete My eBox as a function of the MyGov.be app. However, you can deactivate My eBox.
If you deactivate My eBox, you will no longer receive messages via My eBox, either in your MyGov.be app or on the web portal.
You can deactivate My eBox in the app as follows:
- Open your MyGov.be on your mobile device.
- Go to your profile.
- Go to My eBox.
- Confirm your choice by clicking on 'Deactivate My eBox'.
You must explicitly tell eBox that you do not wish to receive messages via My eBox. Deleting the MyGov.be app is not considered as explicit consent to deactivate My eBox. You will continue to receive messages on your My eBox. To view these messages, you need to visit the My eBox web portal or reinstall the app. More information.
